Reman Dealer

Reman: Dealer

Many Hitachi mining dealers have made significant investments in remanufacturing technology, equipment, and manpower. They offer more local swap-out programs that cover high maintenance components such as cylinders and motors, as well as the most common engine components. Take a closer look at the kinds of reman programs several Hitachi mining dealers offer:

Rudd Equipment

Rudd Equipment serves the many mines located in Kentucky, West Virginia, Indiana, and far western Pennsylvania. Rudd's remanufactured components can often give you the same performance, service life, and warranty as a new one, at a reduced cost. They supply components modified with the latest technical improvements introduced in OEM production. Their power-train remanufacturing centers have the parts, technology, and manufacturer-trained service technicians to deliver consistent quality. They can evaluate component performance, diagnose any problems, perform failure analysis, and rebuild with accuracy and less cost than installing new components.

Rudd even created their own freight system, an independent parts freight-transfer system that operates nightly through seven states. It links their own parts warehouses to manufacturers' warehouses. If they do not have a part in their local stock, they can still deliver to the servicing branch before 7AM the next day.

ROMCO Equipment

ROMCO Equipment serves the heart of Texas mining country. They offer affordable diesel engine rebuilds for any make or model — with quick turnaround times. The company provides different levels of engine rebuild to enable customers to pick and choose exactly the kind of rebuild they want. ROMCO also offers transmission and cylinder rebuilds in an exchange program, which was developed primarily for their mining customers.

Arnold Machinery

Arnold Machinery considers rebuild/reman an important part of their business and a vital service they offer to their customers. This mining dealership, servicing Nevada and Wyoming, established its own remanufacturing business when it delivered its first Hitachi shovels back in 1982. The purpose then was simple. Mining companies work 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, and cannot afford the downtime required to rebuild components. Therefore they needed the availability of exchange components on a very timely basis.

Today, that purpose hasn't changed. In fact, it is even more applicable as mining companies seek ways to control costs on every front. As a result, Arnold Machinery Company's remanufacturing branch has an inventory in excess of $5 million Reman/Exchange components, available to cover every Hitachi shovel or truck in its territory. Components for Hitachi shovels and excavators include hydraulic cylinders, swing transmissions, propel transmissions, pump drive boxes, center swivel joints, and final drives Components for Hitachi trucks include suspensions, hydraulic cylinders, and drive-system components.

Wajax Industries

In 1990, many mining customers were dealing with jobber rebuilds that were inconsistent with the factory specifications. Wajax Industries embarked on a program that would provide a consistent quality product at a competitive price, available off the shelf at a competitive price.

Wajax Industries offers a wide array of rebuild exchange components from electrical traction motors and generators for the large off-highway trucks to the transmission and mechanical components on hydraulic loaders and shovels. In addition Wajax offers their own hydraulic cylinder exchange rebuild program which covers the entire shovel range from the EX1200 to the EX8000.
