Hitachi Construction Machinery Co. produces world class products for the mining and construction industry. Today's product offerings include hydraulic excavators, shovels and rigid haul trucks for the mining industry. In earthmoving excavators, our best-in-class excavator technology can now be found in models ranging from 1.7 to 800 metric tons. And in the woods, the same quality, reliable excavator technology can be found on purpose-built forestry machines ranging to 55 metric tons.

In a move designed to streamline decision-making and improve customer support, Deere & Company and Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. have integrated their marketing operations in North, Central, and South America. Integration of marketing and support functions will strengthen both the Deere and Hitachi brands. In the integrated organization, the companies will use common parts distribution, information systems, and training and support programs, enabling Deere and Hitachi to provide more value to customers.

As a world-class company, Hitachi can draw on many resources to consistently produce quality products. Since 1965, Hitachi has manufactured over 250,000 hydraulic excavators. Hitachi's Tsuchiura manufacturing plant in Japan is the world's largest for construction machinery and has a monthly capacity of 2,400 units. The Tsuchiura factory, with all of its various machining, storage and assembly areas, is considered a single manufacturing system. A flexible system has been created at the Tsuchiura factory, which combines computerized design, electronic feeding systems, sophisticated robots, and top-notch engineers and technicians.

Hitachi quality construction products are also produced in factories in Kernersville, North Carolina and Tierra, Japan. Purpose-built forestry machines are manufactured in Langley, British Columbia.
