In mining, product support is a cooperative effort between the local dealer and Hitachi. Company factory-support managers are assigned to specific mines and provide oversight to help ensure performance, regardless of the level of support chosen by the mine.

Of course, the level of support provided depends on you, the equipment owner. Regardless, through the warranty period, mechanics literally stand by to ensure each machine provides full satisfaction. But beyond the warranty period, our Hitachi dealer is ready to provide a lot of support as well. At a minimum, he can provide training, parts management, component rebuilds, and on-demand mechanic services.

MARC AGREEMENTS

A number of mines use Maintenance and Repair Contracts (MARC) as a way to get a firm grip on operating costs. By outsourcing maintenance, the mine can concentrate on its core operation. MARC agreements generally guarantee: machine availability, machine performance, a fixed cost per hour. Typical benefits include higher availability and a reduction in maintenance costs.
