Proven Success

The EX8000 is Hitachi’s biggest and newest mining machine. It is based on the reliable and highly successful EX3600 platform.

The EX8000-6 model improvements include:

New Tier-2 Cummins engines
New widescreen color LCD multifunction monitor
Updated Machine Information Center measures 58 items versus 12 from previous model
New 45-degree folding-type service ladder
New large utility space in the back of cab – big enough for a table and a refrigerator
Hitachi Global e-Service enables owners to download critical field data to their office for remote field monitoring. Complete Machine Information Center (MIC) data can be downloaded in the field with a laptop computer.

Hitachi's largest hydraulic excavator

The EX8000-6, Hitachi’s largest hydraulic excavator, is seen paired here with the EH5000 rigid-frame haul truck, Hitachi’s largest truck. The feather-touch electric joystick controls have a shorter throw than hydraulic controls, which allows for hours of effortless operation.
assets/increased flow speed

Using the meter-in valves, ample-capacity make-up valves, and flow-assisting pumps, the flow speed is assets/increased in cylinders for dynamic actions – especially between dumping and digging. The result is a short cycle time, not much longer than the smaller EX5500-6.
Non-welded design

The track frame is cast as a solid unit and assets/includes a flange for improved reliability. This non-welded design is used exclusively on large Hitachi models.
Lower rollers, track links, and drive tumblers

Rugged lower rollers, track links, and drive tumblers are newly designed to sustain the giant body fro assets/increased durability and serviceability.
Utility space

The cab area is HUGE. There is plenty of utility space behind the operator’s seat and training seat to hold a table, microwave, and refrigerator. This allows for a full 24-hour-a-day operation for higher productivity.
